Wednesday Night Anime – 1/9/07

First WNA of the new year.  This was a totally retro Wednesday Night Anime in the fact that it was actually held on a Wednesday.  Unfortunately, our plans of actually watching anime got scrapped.

In attendance this week were: Me, Erin, Chris, Omlette, Bart, DES(!),  and towards the end, Liz.

Dinner consisted of Pizza.  Who knows how many hams were planted in the apartment while I was out getting the Pizza.

We played a game of Illuminati with two sets of quick rules (getting a group to start with, less groups required for victory).  It started off as a pretty passive game.  I imagine this happened because Thor wasn’t there.  As usual, we felt Omlette was not much of a threat, so we did not put in much effort into holding him off.  Eventually, Chris started getting too powerful.  This prompted Bart, Chris, and I to start turning on each other.  During this time, Omlette made a surprise attack for victory.  He launched a privileged  attack against a chain of Bart’s groups.  Bart didn’t have enough money to hold him off and no one hard cards to stop the privilege.

Fate was on our side that day.  Omlette rolled a 12.  Bart went next and pointed out that Chris could very easily take that chain of groups away from him.  However, in order to launch an attack against Chris, Bart needed both Omlette and me to give him lots of cash for an attack.  Since we didn’t want to give up our hard earned cash, and since Chris needed 4 groups to win, Bart ended up taking the 5 free megabucks and ending his turn.

As expected, Chris attacked Bart with a privileged attack and there was nothing we could do to stop him from winning that battle.  Luckily, Chris still needed one more group for the win and he was out of cards.  Unluckily, he was the bavarians.  a mere 5 megabucks later, he attained an uncontrolled group from the center of the table.  BAWWWWWWW!

Everything after “Bart didn’t have enough money to hold him off and no one hard cards to stop the privilege.” is fiction! D:
